METROLINK services through Trafford are facing severe delays following torrential rain that has brought traffic chaos to parts of Manchester.
Metrolink services through Trafford to Manchester Airport and East Didsbury are facing severed delays because of flooding on the at Firswood.
A Metrolink Spokesman said: “Due to an event at Firswood, we are currently experiencing severe delays.
“This was due to extreme flooding on the line. Passengers can still use their tickets or passes on the 84, 85, 86 and 142 Stagecoach Buses until all trams have returned to the line. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
Elsewhere, Mancunian Way has been closed in both directions after a large sinkhole emerged in road surface.
The Met Office has issued heavy rain warnings across northern England.
