THE Society for Abandoned Animals in Sale is celebrating after raising £3,800 at its most successful fundraising event ever.
Staff and visitors were treated to a day of entertainment, crafts stalls and live music, as well as a barbecue and sweet treats.
Nicola O’Brien, fundraiser at the SAA said: “We are thrilled with the huge success of the summer fair. The money comes at a very busy time for us as we are receiving calls on a daily basis about animals who need our attention.
“On behalf of all the staff and animals, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who came along and donated their time and money – it really was a special day.”
The money raised will help towards one month of care for the cats, dogs and rabbits at the shelter. . With the arrival of 41 kittens at the shelter, this is proving to be one of the busiest summers for the team.
Nicola added: “Without the generous support of the local community, we wouldn’t be able to provide the care and attention that these animals need.
"We even had a number of reservations from people wanting to adopt our animals, which is the whole reason why we do what we do!”
