A DANCER who has just returned from supporting 80s legend David Hasselhoff on a European tour is among the expert entertainers who will take youngsters on a journey around the world at Stretford Mall.

A series of free Passport to Summer events at the shopping centre includes a Spanish themed flamenco dancing lesson from Rebecca King, who recently returned from tour with "The Hoff’s" Celebration of 80s and 90s.

A Brazilian themed football skills session by Richard Braithwaite aka Mr Silky Skills, billed as the most unique football freestyler in the world.

There are eight events in total and each one focuses on a different place in the world, with specialists from different fields on hand to run the activities.

Children will be issued with a passport, which will be stamped each time they attend an event. Any child who collects six stamps can redeem them for a free lolly pop.

There is also a chance to enter a prize draw to win a family holiday for four at the Haven resort at Talacre Beach in North Wales.

The Passport to Summer activities will be kick off on August 6 events with a celebration of France and Spain.

The following week, on August 13, China and Italy will be the focus with lantern making and pasta jewellery workshops.

On August 20, Australia and Africa will be the theme countries with digeridoo making and animal face painting available.

The final event on August 27 features Native America and Brazil with a football skills session lead by Richard Braithwaite.

Richard’s mind-blowing ball skills have taken him around the world and seen him appear on television several times. His company Silky Skills started with a series of youth groups to encourage youngsters to get involved in sport, in 2002.

He said: “I get invited to give performances all over the place and have been to South Korea to do the moves for a Playstation game."

Other activities on August 27 include making a traditional Native American dreamcatcher.
