THE Sky Ride returns to Manchester city centre on Sunday 2 August.

Riders can take in a different perspective of Manchester from two wheels on the new route, passing some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.

The 12km route is open between 10am-4pm and cyclists can join anytime from one of two starting points from China Town in the city centre and the National Cycling Centre in the east of the city.

People can enjoy the freedom of cycling on traffic-free streets and take part in a range of free activities including the ‘Tricks and Tunes’ area and the friendly Bike Café.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is supporting the Sky Ride Manchester, organised by British Cycling, for the second year and wants to encourage the public to get on their bikes and cycle more often, with an ambition of increasing the number of journeys made by bike in Greater Manchester to 10 per cent by 2025.
