A YOUNG man who is going places in the world of music will be a special guest star at weekend.

Award-winning eighteen-year-old Spanish pianist Eudald Buch, is stopping off in Wilmslow, on Sunday, to perform at St Bartholomew’s Church, in between performances in Barcelona, Salzburg and the upcoming Buxton Festival.

Eudald, who arrived in England in 2013 to study piano at Chetham’s School of Music. It was where he won the 2015 Chetham’s concerto competition.

In recent years he has added to his growing pedigree by also winning prizes at the Girona Conservatoire’s Chamber Music Competition, Barcelona’s ‘Arjau’ Foundation Chamber Music competition and the National Competition for Young Pianists.

Last year he made his solo broadcast debut in a live ‘In Tune’ special programme for Richard Strauss’s 150th anniversary for BBC Radio 3.

Eudald’s recital is part of St Bartholomew’s Summer Serenade series and starts at 3pm and will be followed by afternoon tea. Admission is free, with a retiring collection for the church’s Organ Restoration Appeal.
