PUPILS from Wilmslow High School proved they are the tops when it comes to being legal eagles.

For the third year running a team from Wilmslow High School took on some of the top schools in the country at this year's national finals of the Magistrates Mock Trial and proved when it come to knowing the law and how to argue it, they are among the best.

The road to the finals meant winning both local and regional finals in Crewe last month to become one of 16 teams from a total of 318 still left in the national final held in Victoria Law Courts, Birmingham, where the Wilmslow team finished runner's-up under the watchful eyes of legal experts.

A member of staff said: "They worked as a real team and it showed in their performances. All the hard work and hours of rehearsals were worthwhile.

"We cradled our shiny cup on the train on the way home, glowing with a sense of achievement which can only be achieved by venturing far, far outside our comfort zones, and succeeding."
