AN Urmston man has been arrested in Holland as part of a drugs and money laundering investigation led by the North-west regional organised crime unit, Titan.

Officers from the Amsterdam Police arrested 36-year-old Glenn Madden in Amsterdam Square at 10.15am yesterday morning, June 16.

Madden, who is from Urmston but who has links to Salford, Stretford, and Swinton, was arrested on a European Arrest Warrant and will appear before a local court in Holland later this week.

Titan detectives will then seek to begin an extradition process to bring him back to the UK to appear before a British court where he is accused of money laundering and drugs conspiracy offences.

The arrest of Madden was made by Dutch officers, who have been working with Titan and the UK's National Crime Agency.

Detective Superintendent Jason Hudson, head of operations at Titan, said: "We are very pleased with Tuesday morning's developments and grateful for the assistance of our colleagues in Amsterdam.

“Regional organised crime units like Titan work very closely with the NCA as well as law enforcement agencies throughout Europe to arrest people suspected of being involved in criminality.

“We will continue to work together to bring offenders to justice and use all the resources and legislation at our disposal to do so."

Dave Allen, head of the UK International Crime Bureau at the NCA, said: “Madden’s arrest is a result of close working with Titan and the Dutch authorities.

“It demonstrates the NCA and its partners have the capability to pursue fugitives relentlessly. He will now be returned to the UK to face justice.”
