GRAPHIC design students are helping to spread the word about Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention.

Wythenshawe Hospital-based Genesis, which is the UK’s only charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, called upon the the University of Bolton students’ expertise in a bid to boost awareness among young people..

The charity also wanted to increase its profile among men, with fundraising and social media being integral to the campaigns.

Working in small groups of two or three, the students followed the ‘live brief’ to create a range of design concepts.

And on April 30 at the Nightingale and Genesis Prevention Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, three pairs of students were announced as the winners - Laura Gill and Jody Jones (#showusyours), Jason Holmes and Matthew Atherden (#nipsnap), and Abi Rowson and Katie Shepherd (#10/10 ).

The winning campaigns all incorporated social media and video activity.

Nikki Barraclough, executive director at Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention, said: “The creativity and standard of the work produced has been absolutely incredible and we’re delighted to announce that Genesis will be using several of the campaigns over the coming months.”
