THE generations came together for a bowls match at Flixton Social Club.

Six members of he Flixton team's 10-strong C team came from just two families - and spanned three generations of those families.

And the 'generation game' certainly paid dividends for Flixton - as they came out victors by 191 - 145 against Golden Hill, Urmston, at their Laurence Road green on May 13.

Long-standing member at the club, Denis Jones, said: "It is the first time we have had a team like this. It must be unique.

"They will now be playing regularly together in the same team.

"It is great to get young players coming through."

The two families on the team are made up of grandads Chris Campling and Alex Southall; dads Nick Campling and Andy Southall; and their children Amy Campling and Ole Southall, both 15.
