OWEN Hargreaves is the latest ex-footballer to join a star studded match at Old Trafford between Manchester United Legends and Bayern Munich All Stars on June 14th.

The former England international, who started his career with Bayern before moving to Old Trafford, will spend a half playing for both teams.

The Manchester United Legends side comprises of some of the club’s greatest players of recent times, with the likes of Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar and Jaap Stam taking to the field.

The club’s legendary former captain marvel, Bryan Robson, will also be in the dugout as the team’s manager.

United will line up against an equally illustrious Bayern Munich All Stars side that is set to include Mark van Bommel. Giovane Elber and Dietmar Hamann. The team will also be coached by 1974 World Cup winner, Paul Breitner.

United’s legends travelled to Munich in August 2014 to take part in the first leg of the matchup, which proved to be an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Paul Scholes was the hero that day and will be hoping to seal a victory against the club who United defeated in the famous 1999 Champions League final.

The team have had a busy schedule over the past couple of years, after playing against a Real Madrid legends XI in 2013. That match raised around £1m for the Manchester United Foundation and it is hoped that the Bayern Munich tie will be equally successful.

Other entertainment will also be on offer at the match, with former X-Factor stars Ben Haenow and Union J performing live.

All money raised from the event will go towards Manchester United Foundation’s work in the Trafford community. Tickets are on sale now from manutd.com/legendsareback or by calling 0161 868 8000.
