MORE than 100 Girlguiding volunteers from Greater Manchester including Sale's Clare Crookall, joined for an annual celebration event to celebrate its member’s latest achievements last night.
The women and young adults gathered together at The Life Centre in Sale to congratulate members on gaining Girlguiding’s top volunteer awards.
Clare, who is aleader with Sale Moor Guides.was presented with the Queen’s Guide award.
She said: “Receiving the Queen’s Guide award is a huge honour and I feel very proud that I have achieved it. Girlguiding has given me so many opportunities from training to run 10 km to leading an international trip to Costa Rica and through it I’ve had the chance to do and achieve things I’d never otherwise have done and I’ve made some wonderful lifelong friends along the way.”
Region chief commissioner, Julie Bell, said the honour was for Clare's "outstanding work."
