A 12-year-old girl was repeatedly grabbed by a man as she walked home from school in Sale.

Police are investigating the incident, which occurred when the girl was walking along Moss Lane at around 4pm on Wednesday, March 25.

As she passed Edinburgh Close, a man grabbed her arm before letting go.

As she walked away, she was grabbed again before she hit him and ran off.

The man is described as being white, in his late 50s, 5ft 8in tall, of large build, had short greying hair, a long face and pointy nose.

He wore silver framed rectangle glasses with an orange/brown tint to the lenses, a black bomber style jacket, white polo t-shirt, loose fitting blue jeans and black shoes.

He also spoke with a local accent.

Police Constable David Jarvis said: “We believe there would have been a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and I would ask anyone who may have seen a man grab the victim near to Edinburgh Close to phone us as soon as possible.”
