SHOPPERS can pop in for a ‘power hour’ of yoga while doing their food shop at Tesco in Altrincham from next week.
Each Tuesday from February 3, yoga instructor Amanda Riley will be leading a Power Yoga class in the store’s new community space, with proceeds going towards the Alzheimer’s Society.
Amanda said the classes were a good way of giving something back to the charity that helped her father and grandfather cope with the disease.
Amanda said: “It’s good to be able to contribute to a great organisation that does such positive work, whilst sharing a yoga practice, which is something I love and I’m passionate about.”
The classes will be £5, £4 concessions every Tuesday between 7pm-8pm, with 50p from each person attending donated to Alzheimer’s Society.
Tesco’s community space offers free parking.
Classes are strong and flowing with a focus on alignment and posture, while paying attention to the breath to promote mindfulness in practice.
“You’ll leave feeling like you’ve had a ‘proper work out’ but also your mind will have been so focused on your practice you will have let go of all your other concerns and will leave feeling completely relaxed,” added Amanda.
