PUPILS at a Sale school had a visit from Manchester United stars.
Red's defender Luke Shaw and Andreas Pereira visited Ashton on Mersey School, in support of a PlayStation Schools’ Cup Tie of the Round roadshow.
The England international watched the school's Under-15 team preparing for their cup tie, as part of the grassroots football partnership between the computer games firm and the English Schools’ FA.
Shaw also posed for pre-match photographs with the team and joined in their warm-up ahead of the cup clash with St Peter’s School from Manchester.
Pupils also gathered in a classroom to participate in a question and answer session with both Shaw and Pereira, before heading to the school’s gymnasium, which had been transformed into a gaming zone for the day.
Shaw said: “I had a great time supporting the Schools’ Cup and getting behind this fantastic grassroots initiative. There are some incredibly talented players in schools’ football and I’m glad I could do my bit before their match and speak to some of the players.
"To top the day off I also got to play on the FIFA 15 against a pupil, it doesn’t get better than that!”
Ashton on Mersey School was one of just ten successful schools nationally that applied to host one of these special Tie of the Round events.
