COUNCIL chiefs teamed up with Big Life Enterprises, Trafford Housing Trust and the Department of Work and Pensions to encourage Trafford businesses to think about their responsibilities as employers and how they can give something back to the community.

The aim of the event was to inform firms in the borough about the benefits of working in partnership and tell them about the key benefits of getting involved in recruitment programmes such as the Working Well pilot which helps people with health conditions get back into work.

Businesses were also informed about how they could get support to develop their corporate social responsibility activity and grow by looking after the wellbeing of their employees and recruiting local skills and talent.

The event was was held in Trafford Town Hall and more than 12 local businesses attended and took advantage of the opportunity to network, learn something new and get a flavour of the rewards that can be reaped by supporting the community,

Executive Member for Economic Growth and Planning, Councillor Michael Hyman said “Trafford has a strong and thriving business community. This event was a great opportunity to bring business, Council members and other health, employment and social care agencies together to help create and develop a social responsibility culture in the Borough and drive forward the recruitment of local skills.”
