CARING students from Wellacre Academy in Urmston have secured a £3,000 grant for the Derian House.

The children's hospice supports families before and after the death of a child.

Leader of Respect at Wellacre Academy, Miss Hosty said she had been overwhelmed by the efforts of the students.

She added: "YPI is a superb scheme which offers our students the opportunity to practice life skills whilst making them aware of the wider social issues that our present within the community."
