FOR the second year running, commercial property company, Canmoor, is inviting budding entrepreneurs and start-up ventures across Manchester to enter its 2014 North West Entrepreneur Scheme and pitch their business ideas to secure premises for one year – at no cost.

Celebrating young and dynamic business ideas, the award scheme will provide the successful entrepreneur with free business accommodation in Trafford Park – with all associated rental costs covered for a year – an overall package worth more than £10,000.

Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Trafford Council will be considering the applications along with Canmoor and a shortlist of entrepreneurs will be selected for interview in May.

Last year, three companies were successful. The winner was digital printing company, Image Alchemy Ltd with runners-up, energy management company Planet Green Team, and industrial cleaning company, CSP Professional.

Paul Banks, managing director of Image Alchemy said: “Winning the competition certainly improved our profile – just the mention of having won the Canmoor North West Entrepreneur competition was enough to help open doors for us.

“The new premises at Westbrook Park contribute towards a professional business image and provide excellent secure storage facilities.”

The criteria for the winning individual/business include being able to demonstrate a vision and a capacity for achieving goals, backed by sound planning, strategies and creative thinking.

Sustainable business growth and employment generation will also be key, as well as being able to demonstrate clearly how the offer of 12 months accommodation in one of Canmoor’s Trafford Park units will benefit the business and deliver its growth ambitions”.

Mark Braithwaite, head of Canmoor in Manchester says: “The business climate continues to be economically challenging and this award scheme is ideal for start-up ventures looking to turn their business ideas into reality.”

To register interest and enter the competition, contact Canmoor on 0161 848 1006 or by email at competition@canmoor.com. The final date for completed entry forms is May 16, 2014.
