GREATER Manchester Police (GMP) has named a Sale man as its Business Watch Co-ordinator of the Year.

Mike Rawlings has worked for CityCo for 15 years and previously served as a police officer with GMP for 32 years.

On receiving the award at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, Mike Rawlings said: “I am accepting this award on behalf of so many people who put a great deal of time and effort into reducing retail crime, not least members of the Business Crime Reduction Partnership.”

“This award is given in memory of Bill Lowe, who I worked with at GMP for many years and was a personal friend of mine, I am therefore very pleased to have my name associated with the trophy.”

Assistant chf con Garry Shewan: said: “Mike Rawlings is a worthy recipient of the Business Watch Co-ordinator of the Year award for his sustained support to the police and retailers in Manchester city centre for more than 15 years.”
