TRAFFORD students will receive inspirational talks from women who have chosen predominantly male oriented careers on Friday (March 7).

The talks have been organised part of International Women’s Day.

The event takes place on Saturday (March 8) and thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate their achievements.

Charlotte Morley, supply vhain manager at Unilever in Trafford Park, will be visiting Altrincham Girls Grammar School to talk about careers that are usually male dominated and her experience of working in the industry.

Charlotte said: “It is important that women and girls are not put off from pursuing careers that are traditionally male dominated. Visiting the school is a great way of getting that message across.”

Two female apprentices who are studying construction and engineering will also be visiting Lostock School to talk to Year Ten students about how they have dealt with entering a profession that is underrepresented by women.

The talks have been organised by Trafford Council.
