ALTRINCHAM Children’s Choir has been awarded funding to launch a major new project called Altrincham Sings.
The choir’s Directors, sisters Claire and Tina O’Brien, hope the project will appeal to people who simply love to sing, with no auditions and no experience necessary.
The money was donated to Trafford Sings by John Lewis Music Matters Fund and Thrive Trafford and it is hoped that enthusiastic singers of all ages and abilities – from those who’ve only ever sung in shower to those with previous choral experience – will now volunteer.
Claire said: “It is well known that singing brings many benefits – self-confidence, improved health, companionship, shared experiences and more. It’s scientifically proven.
“Singing is definitely good for you and we think it could be good for the whole town. We want to bring Altrincham alive with music, voices and fun.”
