THE date of the Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election has been announced and will take place on Thursday, February 13.


The parliamentary by-election has been called following the death of sitting MP Paul Goggins.


The constituency includes the Trafford Council wards of Brooklands, Priory and Sale Moor and the Manchester City Council wards of Baguley, Brooklands, Northenden, Sharston and Woodhouse Park.


Anyone living in these wards who is not already registered to vote is encouraged to do so as soon as possible as applications to register must be received by January 28.
 

Applications to vote by post, or to cancel an existing postal vote, must be received by 5pm on January 29.


Residents can download an application form from the council's website at trafford.gov.uk/elections or can ask for a form to be sent to them by post by emailing elections@trafford.gov.uk or calling 0161 912 4259.


A list of candidates for the Wythenshawe and Sale East by-election will be published at 5pm on Wednesday, January 29 at trafford.gov.uk/elections.
