Wayne swings for a night of Sinatra
8:20pm Friday 20th December 2013 in News
SWING music lovers flocked to a Rat Pack-themed night in Urmston which raised more than £1,500 for an Asperger charity.
Wayne Devlin, known as Trafford's answer to Frank Sinatra, performed some classic hits live at Our Lady's and the English Martyrs Parish Centre.
The money raised from the evening will be donated to High Functioning Trafford, a local community group set up to support children and young people living with Asperger Syndrome.
Coronation Street star Jimmi Harkishin was at the event and auctioned a signed 50th Anniversary Coronation Street script and a tour of the new studios at Trafford Quays.
Wayne, who organised the event with the help of his wife Val Devlin, thanked everyone who made the evening a success.
He said: “We had a very successful evening. We raised around £1,500 for High Functioning Trafford and more importantly, raised awareness of the group and of Asperger Syndrome and high-functioning autism."
