SALE Choral Society’s next concert promises to be a real ‘made in Trafford’ affair, with the choir singing The Manchester Carols by Bowdon composer Sasha Johnson Manning.
Sasha studied singing, cello and piano at the Royal Academy of Music. She began composing at the age of seven and she has written many well-loved anthems, carols and songs and was the composer-in-residence for the St Louis Chamber Chorus in Missouri for eight years. She has composed pieces for Emma Kirkby, James Bowman, Holly Marland, John Turner and the London Baroque.
The performance takes place at The Avenue Methodist Church, Wincham Road, Sale, on December 21 at 7.30pm. Russell Medley is the conductor for the concert and tickets priced £8.50 are available from 0161 980 2526. Drinks and mince pies will be available during the interval, with a donation to the charity Parkinson’s UK.
