TRAFFORD Council is warning Broadheath residents that time is running out to apply for postal and proxy votes in the upcoming by-election.
The deadline for residents wanting to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on December 31.
All applications must be sent to the electoral registration officer, Elections Office, Room SF241, Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, Manchester, M32 0TH.
The deadline date to register on the register of electors is also December 31.
Proxy vote applications must reach the electoral registration officer by 5pm on January 8.
After this date, the only people who will be eligible to apply for a proxy vote are those who become too ill to vote in person, after 5pm on January 8.
They must ensure their applications reach the Elections Officer at the same address by 5pm on January 16.
The by-election itself is to be held on January 16.
Anyone wanting more details about the Broadheath by-election, or submitting postal or proxy vote applications, should contact the Elections Office on 0161 912 4259 or email Elections@trafford.gov.uk.
