A Cement mixer was forced onto its side after it crashed into a van in Trafford Park.
Three fire crews were called to the incident, on Centenary Way, at around 6am this morning.
The crews from Stretford, Eccles and Ashton fire stations found that a large articulated cement mixer, which was carrying mortar, had crashed into a medium-sized van.
It was initially thought that casualties were trapped inside one of the vehicles, but this turned out not be the case and the firefighters assisted the police in making the area safe.
However, Centenary Way is still closed to traffic both ways – between Guinness Road (Business Circle) and Moorings Road (Tenax Circle) – causing congestion on many surrounding roads.
A diversion is in place on Ashburton Road West and Guinness Road.
