Residents invited to attend new Road Safety Commission

MP Kate Green has launched a Road Safety Commission as part of her road safety campaign to tackle traffic problems in Stretford and Urmston.

The Commission wants residents to have their say on traffic accident hotspots and how traffic could be better managed.

Many people have already asked Kate to help them push for safer road crossings and cycle routes, lower speed limits, and tighter control of vehicles and parking outside schools around the constituency. The Commission will bring people together to form a strong campaigning voice.

The first meeting of the new Commission will be held at Urmston Library at 2.30pm on December 1, and everyone who is concerned about traffic problems or road safety in their neighbourhood is invited to attend.

Kate Green said: “I have set up a new Road Safety Commission so that residents can bring their concerns to my attention, and we can work together to identify and address the dangers posed by fast traffic and accident hotspots.

"I believe that it is vitally important for people to feel safe when walking or cycling in their own neighbourhood. With the help of local residents who will join the Commission, I will be campaigning for our roads to be made safer.”
