CANTABUS Choral ensemble return to the Avenue Methodist Church with a gala fundraising performance of Mozart’s Music in aid of Music for Memories on April 8 at 7.30pm.
The first half will feature a selection of choral and solo pieces by Mozart and, in the second half, the 60-strong choir will perform Mozart’s Requiem.
The concert will feature sopranos Elaine Evans and Rachel Taylor, Mezzo Soprano, Zoe Buxton, Tenor, Michael Jones and Bass, Dmitry Yumashev.
One of the country’s leading organists, Jonathan Scott, will play the organ and the musical director will be David Evans.
Recently Jonathan Scott has performed concertos with the Orchestra of Opera North and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and made solo appearances at the BBC Proms.
He has appeared as organ and piano soloist at the Royal Albert Hall as well as making mid-Atlantic performances on the Queen Mary 2.
