A Sale dad who lost his daughter to suicide met the Prime Minister to discuss the addition of the prevention of suicide to the school curriculum.

Mike Palmer, whose daughter Beth Palmer took her own life as a teenager, is one of the '3 Dads Walking' alongside Andy Airey and Tim Owen.

The trio raise awareness and money for PAPYRUS, the charity, by walking all over the country.

As their first challenge, they walked from Andy's home in Morland, Cumbria to Tim's home in Shouldham, Norfolk and as their second challenge, they walked between the parliaments of all the nations of the UK.

And now the '3 Dads Walking' are on a mission to add the prevention of suicide to the school curriculum with their petition signed by tens of thousands of people triggering a debate at Westminster Hall last month.

On April 25, the trio met the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to discuss the issue at Downing Street.

In a report shown on BBC Breakfast Mr Sunak, who has two young daughters, said the meeting was 'moving'.

He said: "When I learned about your stories, it was moving. I have two young girls so it struck a chord with me.

"They're younger than yours were but it made me think about these things."

At a debate at Westminster Hall last month, Conservative MP Nick Fletcher confirmed a commitment by the Education Secretary to include the prevention of suicide in a review of Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) in the school curriculum.

Mr Fletcher said: "I was delighted to receive a letter for the three dads and I from the Secretary of State for Education, who said the government is including suicide prevention as a key priority area in their forthcoming review of RSHE, a move I welcome. This is a real step forward."
