TRANSPORT for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is warning residents of traffic problems in Old Trafford tomorrow.

The roads are set to be busy due to a combination of a friendly game at Old Trafford football ground and two games in new tournament The Hundred at Old Trafford cricket ground.

Manchester United are playing Brentford at 8pm, while Manchester Originals men's and women's teams are playing Northern Superchargers throughout most of the afternoon and evening.

And TfGM has posted on social media to warn of the impact of the events.

It said: "Please be aware that on Wednesday 28 July events will be taking place at Old Trafford football and cricket grounds.

"Roads are expected to be much busier from 4pm to 11pm.

"Consider re-timing or re-routing your journey if you are travelling on the night."

The post received a lukewarm response from residents, with some pointing out some of the roads in the area are already busy as a result of roadworks and temporary cycle lanes.

"Absolute chaos guaranteed," one of them commented.

The Metrolink, which saw significant disruption at the start of the week but is now running a normal service, is also set to be busy.
