POLICE are warning residents in the west of Trafford to remain vigilant after a number of overnight thefts in the last week.
The police inspector responsible for the west of the borough issued the warning in a video shared on social media on Friday.
In it, he said there have been multiple thefts in Davyhulme, Flixton and Urmston recently.
He highlighted 'shed breaks' as a particular problem, with bicycles stolen from residents' outbuildings, as well as car thefts.
The police inspector went on to reassure residents that there are plain clothes officers on patrol in the in the west of the borough and that all the thefts are still under investigation.
He also advised residents to take extra care with their home security.
Although it was not mentioned in the video, one of the thefts the police inspector might have been referring to is last week's theft of four bicycles from a house on Meadowgate.
The thief was caught on CCTV, but difficult to identify due to a mask.
