BINGO bonkers Kate Hoyle is taking a gamble on hitting the jackpot with her latest tattoo.

For the 24-year-old has agreed to become a walking advert for a bingo hall in return for a year’s free play.

When bingo bosses posted a tattoo challenge on the internet, they did not expect anyone to take it up.

But they had not counted on Miss Hoyle, who is now proudly showing off her new body art — a six-inch long, brightly-coloured Mecca Bingo logo.

She said: “I saw the challenge and thought, why not?

“I love bingo, it’s a laugh and this is the kind of thing I’d do. It’s random and different.”

Tattoo artist Ste Kelly posted a message on Mecca’s Facebook page offering players a discount to help promote Absolute Ink Tattoo Studio in Moor Lane, Bolton, the new business he co-owns.

During the banter that followed, Will Clarke, a membership manager with the company, jokingly promised a year’s free bingo — worth around £2,000 — to the first person to chose the Mecca logo for their tattoo.

A few hours later Miss Hoyle, who lives in Ellesmere Port but regularly travels to Bolton to play bingo, stepped forward.

The full-time mum to five-year-old Carlie spent 45 minutes under the needle while she had her fifth tattoo put on her right forearm.

She said: “I love it. I think it’s brilliant. I’m one of a kind anyway, but even more so now.

“I’ll display it as much as possible. I think it will surprise people and be a talking point.

“I’m pleased with the free bingo — I’m just hoping for a big win now.”

Mr Clarke said: “I was surprised but pleased when Kate came forward.

She must love bingo.”

Of the tattoo, he said: “It’s absolutely unique. It’s worth giving away a year’s bingo because she is a walking advert for us. I just hope my bosses don’t want all the staff branded next!”

Mr Kelly, who created the tattoo for free, added: “I didn’t think she was serious at first.

“I really enjoyed doing it. It’s something different and definitely the most unusual tattoo I’ve done.

“I’ve saved the template if anyone else wants it done.”
