A paper sorting room was turned into a new industrial laboratory providing central testing and process control facilities.
It took several months to convert the room into a modern laboratory, but this room meant that customer queries and technical investigations could be carried out with top efficiency.
Opened in October, 1968, the lab also incorporated a printability control unit where tests could be conducted under standard atmospheric conditions.
The former central lab, located in the same building, became used for pulp evaluation testing.
