REGARDING your article on the Trafford Centre traffic. The situation was made far worse by the staff at the centre on traffic patrol.
I was trying to leave the centre Saturday afternoon from the under cover car park.
There was traffic built up trying to get out and the car park was only half full. As I got to the exit I noticed that they had blocked off the entrance directing traffic to the other car parks.
This was causing grid lock because cars not able to get into the under cover car park were then trying to get into other lanes to go round. I have worked at the centre since it opened and you can tell when the staff are on duty directing traffic it causes absolute mayhem.
Do they not understand that when a shopping centre is open for such long hours not everyone turns up at the same time. i.e. as people are entering other people are leaving.
I know they have a problem with people not parking in bays, but couldn’t they fine these people at least £20 and donate it to charity.
Trafford Centre worker - not looking forward to the next two months of car park mayhem.
