I WOULD like to bring matters concerning the congestion charge to the attention of readers before the voting date.
Are you aware that the only way out of Flixton without travelling over or under the M60 is by going either to Sale, Altrincham or Lymm?
If you are shopping in Stretford and wish to carry on beyond 4pm or to begin shopping before 9.30am, you will be subject to the congestion charge.
In fact if you wish to travel anywhere further than a couple of miles from home you will be in the congestion charge time, no matter if you have a hospital appointment, flight to catch or visit a sick relative.
If you work more than two miles from home and a car is essential, bad luck!
Although in principle I am in favour of a congestion charge, unless there is an exception for those who live close to the M60 and pass backwards and forewords several times a day, I will definitely be voting no.
Yours Catherine Johnson, Flixton resident.
