AT this time of last year, a letter from a Davyhulme resident warned readers of a plot by one of our community shops at Woodsend to ensnare locals into Pagan rituals by displaying items of Halloween paraphernalia, holding a best costume competition, complete with prizes and donating monies to charity.
I must warn the Davyhulme writer that the same shop is at it again this year on an even larger scale. How devious of them by giving the impression that they are trying to foster community spirit, entertain parents and children and raise money for the NSPCC.
Also coercing staff members to dress accordingly and looking happy to do it.
I will be bringing my grandchildren from Warrington to show them what a fantastic display it all is and to placate any evil entities that may be invoked. I suppose I should make a donation - just in case.
