DEAR sir, shame on the management of Streford Mall.

Their unitary decision to restrict the annual poppy sale to two weekends smacks of a lack of thought and feeling on their part.

While it is true that the monies raised by poppy sales are charitable, the sale of poppies is much more than charitable giving. It is the chance for people like myself to remember and honour the sacrifice made by our fighting forces in conflicts which have allowed our country to remain free.

Remembering the ultimate sacrifices made by our forces is something both the old and young take part in.

Yours truly B.Morton, Debenham Road, Stretford
