SO Trafford MBC’s latest leap onto the re-cycling bandwagon is for residents to have four bins in their gardens.
I trust this will not lead to a plethora of petty ‘fund-raising’ fines for placing refuse in the wrong bin, on the wrong day etc. as is happening elsewhere.
I assume that the redundant black boxes and blue bags will be suitably re-cycled!
Similarly I hope that our political leaders recognise the ‘work’ being carried out by residents in separating their refuse, a task previously undertaken by refuse collection agencies, and devise an appropriate level of discount from our council tax bills in return for this unpaid assistance.
