IT is good to see some pro-active communication from One Trafford on waste recycling (Messenger, March 15).

Keeping people aware of what can be done with green bin waste will help good habits for improving the environment.

Will the suggested policing of habits by provision of information tags on bins help or hinder?

A couple of issues which One Trafford might take up from the residents' point of view are as follows:

1 Please provide more information on recycling of plastics for black bin waste. I am confused on what bottle or what packaging is acceptable or not. Plastic has an identifier number from 1 to 7 clearly shown on all bottles. What numbers can be recycled? Can insulation made from recycled plastic be then recycled, and if not why not? Maybe an information tag for the black bin could be useful.

2 If there is a grey bin full of waste, please empty it rather than lay blame with the residents for the tightness of packing when it is most likely the bin liner just needing a little help on its way. Alternatively, provide residents with tags to put on the One Trafford bin lorry every time a grey bin is not emptied properly.
