ONE cannot help but marvel at the efficiency of Trafford Council and TfGM with regard to Altrincham Interchange.
Fourteen months after the supposed completion (July 2014) there is still not only no working lift in the interchange, but all the pavement around, and in front of the clock tower is being dug up.
Have the council discovered buried treasure to finance their projects there, or is the whole area going to be cobbled, like other parts of Altrincham?
If they insist on turning the clock back 100 years, why not lay tramlines down Railway Street. That would disrupt traffic for another couple of years, and complete destruction of Altrincham as a shopping centre.
Obviously these tramlines would be of no practical use, but that would not deter our Council in pointless projects.
