ON September 8 this year my wife and I were flying to Halkidiki in Greece from Manchester as part of our 50th wedding anniversary celebrations for a two week holiday.

After approximately 45 minutes my wife collapsed completely unconscious.

As I was seated at the other end of the aircraft, I was unaware of what was happening until I was informed by a member of the cabin crew.

I moved down the aircraft to find my wife was lying unconscious in the aisle and was being attended to by a fellow passenger.

The fellow passenger was a nurse from Altrincham who was travelling to Sani Beach Hotel in Halkidiki with her husband who was a retired police officer.

She checked my wife over and looked after her throughout the remainder of the flight as well as filling in all related documents for us us until we were handed over to the medical authorities on landing at Thessaloniki Airport.

Her husband also collected our luggage and handed it over to a taxi driver who was waiting for us at the airport.

We would like to say a big thank you for all that they did for us, but all we know is that this kind lady was named Leslie and as she and her husband were only staying for one week, they were not on the return flight with us.

My wife spent a week in hospital before continuing with our holiday and she is now fully recovered, but waiting for a consultation with a cardiologist.

If anyone wishes to get in touch with us they can do so via brianpaice1943@talktalk.net.
