Mersey Valley FC’s newly-established ladies team this season have obtained a new kit sponsor.

The Sale-based side are competing in Division Two of the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League and are on the lookout for new players.

With no strip available, prior to the start of the season, manager Dave Atkinson used a ‘100 team scratch card’ to raise funds for a new kit, with the winner having the opportunity for their business logo to be incorporated on to the new shirts.

The winner was Brookies Removals, who are one of the largest removal firms in Sale, established in 1982.

And the kit instantly proved to be a lucky charm, taking the ladies team through to the next round of the Challenge Cup in just its first outing.

The hope now is, that with the help of some new players, the team will develop and grow, and enjoy more success under the Mersey Valley umbrella.
