TRAFFORD FC are searching for a new manager after Danny Caldecott left to join Clitheroe this week.

Caldecott, who has been at the helm at Shawe View for three years, met with chairman John Eadie to inform him of his decision.

A statement on the club’s website said: “Our chairman John Eadie met with Danny Caldecott and Danny advised John that he had been offered the manager’s job at Clitheroe FC and he has accepted that offer.

“Danny is ambitious and wants to progress his career in management. That ambition is one of the reasons we gave him the job here at Shawe View in 2020.

“His passion, determination, and leadership qualities are clear to see and we fully understand his reasons for wanting to grasp this opportunity at this moment in time.

“We wish Danny all the best and we thank him for his dedicated service to Trafford Football Club as manager for the past three-and-a-half years (and as a player before that).

“He leaves with our blessing and will always be a very welcome visitor to Shawe View in the future.”

The 41-year-old former Ashton United, Hyde and Stalybridge Celtic player succeeds David Dempsey, following his recent departure at Clitheroe.

Clitheroe currently sit third in NPL West with Trafford at the bottom of the table after seven games without a win.
