ALTRINCHAM are back in the National League.
Dan Mooney’s goal handed Phil Parkinson’s men a 1-0 win at Boston in the National League North play-off final as Alty returned to the top tier of non-league.
It made it two promotions in three years under Parkinson and assistant Neil Sorvel as the club completed their recovery from back-to-back relegations.
Mooney pounced on a goalkeeping howler to score the all-important goal in the 64th minute as Parkinson’s side got their rewards for an improved second half performance.
Alty kept their cool in the closing stages to see out victory having lost 5-0 at the same venue back in August.
That seems a lifetime ago for the Robins and their supporters as they now plan for life in the National League.
