BOWDON and Altrincham Kersal Under-13s had a day out to watch Sale Sharks perform a brave comeback against Exeter Chiefs on Sunday.

The boys have been joining forces this season to display a fine standard of rugby from both clubs in a superb show of teamwork.

They attended a breakdown masterclass to sharpen their skills, learning how to secure the ruck and consider their options with the ball to attack forwards.

After going through their paces, they formed a guard of honour for the Sale and Exeter  players before watching  them put the  theory into practice.

In an open first half, there were mistakes from both sides as they went searching for tries.

The boys were  waving flags and singing along with the  crowd to encourage Sale in an entertaining  game and  the hosts were unlucky to go in 22-13 down at half time, particularly as Yarde failed to touch down when over the line.

The second half saw Sale hunting down the missing points and they only lost narrowly 22-20 after two failed conversions.

Despite the scoreline, the Bowdon and Kersal youngsters had an enjoyable day out and organisers hope it will inspire the team for years to come.
