CRINGLEWOOD remain the team to beat in the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League after a 4-3 win against high-flying Timperley Cons.

Unbeaten Cringlewood started with a win before Cons hit back with a game of their own, and so it went throughout the match with each team taking a game each until the final one which Cringlewood took to secure two vital points to keep them at the top.

They also won the gallon pairs at the end of the match.

Central A are in second spot after a 5-2 victory over the Navigation, including wins from the likes of Darren Wood and Geoff Talbot.

Central A also won the gallon.

Central B travelled to the British Rail club and the hosts took the first three games before John Thierens, of Central B, bounced back to draw a game with Rail’s Iris Bannister.

Central were then fighting for a draw, and with wins from Dennis Hand and Dave Wood it looked like they stood a chance.

However, Tony Feesey of the Rail took on the challenge and won his game and a 4½-2½ victory for his team before they also won the gallon.
