JAMES Curtis is delighted to welcome the experience of a new professional Lloyd Davies to his teaching team at James Curtis Golf in Altrincham.

Curtis said: "Due to the growth of James Curtis Golf we are fortunate to have Lloyd join our team.

"Lloyd has a wealth of experience coaching beginners through to tour players and he is also going to play a big part of junior academy.”

Davies added: “I’ve always been big into sports, my first real passion was football then rugby but then aged 14 I got into golf.

"I got down to a four handicap after 14 months and then got asked to start coaching when I was 16/17 years of age and have never looked back since

“My biggest success was moving to Dubai and working my way up at Arabian Ranches Golf Club and being put in charge of running the academy there.

“Playing-wise I did some good things as an amateur for my county, Sussex, getting to final qualifying for the Open a few years back and playing with Wade Ormsby and World Cup winner David Carter was a great experience for me.

“I’m delighted to start here at Altrincham, of course it’s going to be different to Dubai but personally I’m really happy to be back home in the UK closer to family and friends.

“I met James a couple of times and we discussed some plans going forward that excited me.

"They have a good junior section which I will help shadow, setting up and providing some junior tournaments is one of the key things I will put into place shortly.

"That’s something I had done in Dubai and it’s gone from strength to strength out there.

“I’ve always been good at building relationships with local companies and schools and that is something I’m really keen to develop here at Altrincham.

“Finally, I have to say thanks to James and the staff for the opportunity at Altrincham Golf.

"Everyone has been so welcoming and I’m really looking forward to a successful time here.”
