URMSTON Town moved into fourth spot in Division One of the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League after a 1-1 draw with Newton.

Radclyffe extended their position in top spot with an emphatic 9-1 victory at home to Chorltonians, while Manchester Polonia continued their recent good form with a 4-2 win at Signol Old Boys.

In the other match in the division, Moston Brook and Swinton shared the points in a 4-4 draw.

In Division A, top club AFC Stockport had a close one against bottom club Salford Storm, eventually winning 3-2, while Mellor thirds crushed Moston Brook Reserves 7-1 to move into second place above Old Stretfordians Reserves, who suffered a surprising 3-2 defeat at Rochdale Galaxy.

In the other matches in the division, Trafford United Reserves maintained their chase on the top four with a 3-2 win away at Dukinfield Athletic Reserves and Wythenshawe Wanderers won 4-1 at home to Deans.

In Division B, leaders Parrs Wood Celtic were pushed all the way by lowly Heaton Mersey but eventually won a close-fought match 5-4.

Second placed AFC Oldham moved further away from the leaders after going down 3-2 to Moston Brook thirds.

In the rest of the fixtures, Chorltonians Athletic won 3-2 at Flixton Juniors, while Hillgate hit eight goals without reply against Spurley Hey Reserves.

Division C leaders Salford Storm Reserves had a narrow 1-0 win at lowly Govan Athletic A, while second-placed Irlam Tigers Rangers won 6-2 at home to Stoconians fourths to maintain their chase for top spot.

It was honours even in the other matches with Staly Lions holding third place Chadderton Park Reserves to a 2-2 draw and Altrincham Hale A drawing 3-3 at home to AFC Stockport.

Division Two saw possibly the most surprising results of the day with leaders Dukinfield Athletic losing 2-1 at Stoconians and a goal-fest at second-placed South Manchester Reserves saw them lose 7-3 to Hadfield Athletic.

South’s slip up allowed North Walkden to close the gap on them with a 2-0 win in their local derby at Barr Hill, and Bedians to stay with them after 6-1 win at Chorltonians Reserves.

In the other match in this division Oldham Victoria scored a 5-2 victory at Mellor Reserves.

In Division Three, leaders Signol Athletic maintained their top spot with a 2-0 win at Salford Victoria Reserves and Chadderton Cott kept up the chase with an emphatic 8-1 win at Spurley Hey.

Maintaining their good form and moving into third place were Village Manchester after winning 2-0 against Denton Town Reserves.

In the other games in the division, Chadderton Park sealed a 5-1 win at home to Stoconians Reserves and Elton Lib Hargreaves had a 3-1 win against bottom club Hooley Bridge.

The games involving the top two in the Premier Division, Whalley Range and Rochdalians, fell foul of the weather and Waterloo took the opportunity to jump up to third and close the gap with a 5-2 win at home to Dom Doyle.

Abacus Media, dropped a place to fourth after they lost 3-1 to Salford Victoria.

In the only other match in the division, Milton and High Lane shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw.
