TRAFFORD MV return to action on Saturday after two weeks without a game when they host Widnes, kick off 2.15pm.

And after the recent appointment of new head coach, South African Kit Brammer, they will be hoping to kickstart their campaign against the team sitting second in the ADM Premier Division.

Brammer will be aiming to adopt new training regimes to bring the best out of the MV players and improve performances in the short term.

But this weekend he is likely to be without skipper Pat Eccles who is struggling with a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, the second XV travel to Preston Grasshoppers for an away fixture.

MV are recruiting new players for all three senior teams, as well as their teenage age-groups sides.

Despite having no game on Saturday, the club hosted a Rugby World Cup breakfast party attended by 250 local rugby fans – including a group of South Africans – in a fantastic friendly atmosphere.

And all agreed South Africa were deserved winners, overcoming a brave England who struggled to reach the same heights as they had in the semi-final win against the All Blacks.
