BROOKLANDS Cricket Club's Under-15s have won the South Manchester Junior Cricket League for the first time in six years.

Managed by Neil Smitham and coached by Gordon Cunliffe, the mainly u14 team lost just one league game in an excellent display of cricket and teamwork. Smitham said: “As well as some good batting and bowling performances, our work in the field has been excellent and really helped us to some wins against some strong teams.

"Winter training certainly paid off and helped us prepare for the season, and it all starts again soon as we hope to defend the title next season.

"I have to say a big well done to all the squad that won it for us."

Brooklands CC caters for all ages of junior cricket, with training catered for different age groups on separate nights and leads to many players going on to play in the senior teams.
