CENTRAL B skipper Dave Wood got the better of son Darren on his way to the final of the Captain's Cup in the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League.

In the competition where each team captain represents their side in a straight knockout, Dave Wood was drawn against his own son and Central A team captain Darren and he won to reach the semi-final.

In the other last-eight ties, Cringlewood captain Danny O’Donnell beat Cons skipper Andy Brownhill, while Jolly Butcher's Stuart Graham saw off the valiant Kevin Legg, of Budenburgs.

Completing the last-four line up was Station skipper, Ric Kiel, who beat British Rail's Stan Pearson.

In the semis, underdog Wood beat O'Donnell and Graham won a tight clash with Kiel, and both progress to the final in May 20.

The other knockout on the night was the Middle-Age Knockout – for the 31-54 age group.

After some hard-fought battles in the early rounds, the semi-finals came down to Jolly Butcher's Graham against Gary Sullivan, of Timperley Cons, and Station's Kiel against Matt Bulger, of Cringlewood.

The winners were Graham and Kiel and they will face each other in the final on the same night as the Captain's Cup final at Broadheath Central Club.
